Hemingway's "The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber"

The Macombers decide to go on an African safari. On the safari, Francis Macomber goes lion hunting. While hunting for this lion he chickens out and bolts from the lion. His wife sees this. She keeps mocking him all throughout the rest of their trip. She calls him a coward.Mrs. Macomber decides to get friendly with their guide, Mr. Wilson. She believes that he is so very brave! She is caught going back into her husband's and her tent. Mr. macomber asked where she was and she simply says getting a breathe of fresh air. the following day Francis tells Wilson he wants to redeem himself. So they go buffalo hunting. While hunting Mr. Macomber kills two buffalo and he over his fear. Margaret realizes this and fears that he will not fear her anymore also. So she "accidentally " shoots francis in the back of the head. Wilson tells her that she done the right thing, for Francis would have left her too. She pleads and begs Wilson to stop. only after she says please does he stop. He tells her that that's better, and that please is much better and that he will stop.
