Hemingway's "A Day's Wait"

One morning a little boy wakes up with a fever. His dad gets a doctor to look at his son. The doctor says that the boy will be fine, just have him take medicine. So the father gives his son medicine throughout the day. He starts to read to his son when he realizes that he is gazing of into space. The boy tells his father that he doesn't have to stay with him if it is going to bother him and that he would rather stay awake. The father says that it doesn't bother him. A few hours later the father goes out to hunt. When he returns he takes his son's temperature. The boy believes that he was going to die. He tells his father this, and the father tells him how it was in different degrees. The boy realizes that he isn't going to die. The next day he cried ver easily over the things that had no importance.
